Mommy's Country Boy

Just wanted to post a few pictures of my sweet boy & give a short, but sweet update on what we've been up to, or have not been up to, should I say. ;)

Not a lot has been going on with us. Just waiting for Master Gentry to make his appearance in about 7 weeks, 4 days.  I spoke with my doctor about when I would like to schedule my c-section & he has gone ahead and told me to start planning for my new baby boy to be here on Friday, June 15.  I'm excited because that's the Friday before Father's Day on Sunday.  I told Larson that was his gift from me this year. Ha!

Other than that, there's not much to update.  Jubal is his usual charming little self.  I love him so much! I hope he adjusts well to his new brother.  That is my main worry right now.  I hope we all adjust well.  Not even gonna sugar-coat it...I'm a little scared of being a mommy to TWO.  I'm sure we'll get schedules & routines back in order, I'm just worried about how easy/hard it's going to be to get there.  Guess we'll just have to cross those bridges when we get there.

Can you say nervous???

Easter 2012

Our Easter was a busy one.  Thursday night, I stayed up late making cute little Easter cupcakes & Bunny Bait for Jubal's class on Friday.

We dyed eggs until 11:30 Friday night.  Needless to say, Jubal was asleep by 9:45 so he wasn't much help. ;)

Saturday, we went to Larson's family's house for a huge egg hunt.  Larson comes from a large family.  I had to take off work a little early Saturday so we could make it, but it was well worth it.  All those women know they can throw down when it comes to cooking!  SO much food.

I didn't even get any pics of Jubal at the hunt because there was so much activity going on it was hard to take a non-blurry one with my iPhone.  I did, however get a quick video.  Last year, he couldn't walk yet, so Larson had to tote him around to hunt for eggs. This year, my baby got to do it all by himself. :)

When we finally got home Saturday evening, we rested for a little while.  I had to get a ham in the oven for lunch at my mama's house on Sunday.  I ended up just setting my alarm clock to wake me up at 1:30 a.m. to take it out of the oven since it was so late when I got it in.

Sunday, we were up fairly early.  I made some breakfast for us, then finished the few things I still had to do before going to my mama's.

My silly best friend, Darla, called me just a giggling.  She asked what the Easter Bunny brought us and we started telling her what Jubal had gotten in his basket.  She told us to walk outside because she "thought" the Easter Bunny may have brought us all a little something else. ;)

Sure enough, the Easter Bunny had brought us a "dolled-up" pink flamingo.  The cutest thing I've ever seen.  She had blond hair, false lashes, earrings, a scarf, & a tiara!  Darla is just so much fun!!!

We made it to my mama's about 30 minutes later than we had planned, but my sister had all the trimmings ready.  We enjoyed our wonderful, traditional meal of ham, baked beans, potato salad, and rolls.  It was awesome!

After our meal, we had a small egg hunt for Jubal & Alannah.  I wish I had a bigger family, but it was just the two of them.  Next year we'll have Gentry, too, though. :))

Even though I love holidays with my baby, I was glad to get home that evening and rest some.  Gentry is taking his little toll on my body.  I'm carrying him much differently than I carried Jubal.  We only have 9 1/2 weeks left, though, and our sweet boy #2 will be in our arms.

I hope everyone's Easter was as happy as ours was.

Smorgasbord

I have so many cute pictures that I've taken recently. I planned on doing a post for each little outing we've taken Jubal on, but I just cannot ever seem to find the time to sit down and write as often as I'd like to. So, here is a little of all of what we've been up to, other than work & school/daycare.

We took Jubal to meet the Easter Bunny this past Sunday afternoon at the Statesboro Mall & Tuesday evening, after work/school, to see Ronald McDonald at our local McDonald's "Family Night".

He was so funny when he met the Easter Bunny! While I held our spot in line waiting for pictures, Larson took Jubal up where he could get a good look at him. Jubal was waving and saying "Hi!" the whole time. Smiling. Just before his turn for pictures, Larson let him walk up to the Easter Bunny and even sit next to him. It was the sweetest. I was so happy he wasn't getting upset like he did when we took him to see Santa back at Christmastime, but really seemed to be comfortable with the Easter Bunny.

Then, it was time for pictures. The woman taking them told the Easter Bunny to place Jubal in his lap. This is what happened...

Phone pic.

He was NOT going to sit in the Easter Bunny's lap. He didn't appreciate him even touching him. Period.

However, he didn't mind sitting next to him, so we ended up getting some halfway decent pictures after all.

Phone pic of the picture we purchased. I seriously need a scanner. Ha!

When I saw that he was absolutely hating sitting in the Easter Bunny's lap, I asked the photographer to just try letting him sit beside him for the pictures. Glad I did. ;)

MY little Easter Bunny! :)

Jubal had a pretty good day at school Tuesday, so when we heard that Ronald McDonald was going to be at our local McDonald's, we thought he might enjoy going to see him. When we picked him up we asked him if he wanted to go see Ronald McDonald. He shook his little head yes & smiled real big.

There was so many other children there, that we decided to let him eat before taking him outside where most of the commotion was going on. He's always about to starve when we pick him up anyway, so I figured he'd be in a better mood after he ate something.

Ronald McDonald came inside and made rounds to each table while we were eating and Jubal enjoyed watching him perform some little tricks. After our meal, we took Jubal outside to try and get some pictures.

Jubal didn't want to get too close to him. He is so funny! He will talk and wave and act like he wants to play, but when it comes time to get close to these characters, it's a No-Go. Ha!

He wouldn't let Larson hold him in the middle for me to take pictures. He wanted to be on the outside, far away from poor Ronald McDonald who tried everything to get Jubal to want to be closer to him.

Checking ol' Ronald McDonald out.

Larson was trying his best to get Jubal to look at me, but he wasn't taking his eyes off of Ronald.

We left after we couldn't let him run around and play for all of the bigger kids outside playing, too. He got to go home and play with Laney on their swing set & ride his 4-wheeler the rest of the evening.

I took a few more pics of him and Larson before bath time. I love my little boy so much. :))

I love that precious little smile he can give me, too. I hope he starts to feel better because he's had a rough couple of days and has had to start taking Zyrtec & we've had to start putting allergy drops in his eyes. He got those mean old seasonal allergies from me and I so wish he hadn't. Bless his little heart!

I'm making some cute little cupcakes and "Bunny Bait" tonight for his Easter egg hunt at school tomorrow. I love doing little things like that. This weekend can't get here quickly enough! We're dying eggs tomorrow night, Jubal is going to an egg hunt Saturday at Larson's family's house, and Sunday we are having an egg hunt & lunch at my mama's. I can't wait until Jubal is older so he really understands why we celebrate Easter.

Just remember...

HE IS RISEN!!!!

If I don't have the chance to blog again before next week, I hope you all have a Happy Easter!

God Bless!!!
