At School With Gentry

I still get pictures from Gentry's teachers every now & then. He has a good time at school, and even though he misses his big brother being there, he has lots of little friends that he talks about all the time. His favorites are Quinn, Greyson, and Landon.

Gentry is the sweetest boy ever. He is developing the most awesome little personality. I didn't think there could be any sweeter than Jubal, but Gentry tops the cake. Seriously. He loves to love, and I love him so much! :)

I have a few cute little pictures I'm proud of from his teachers that I want to put on here.  I love all of his silly faces.

Gentry & Landon being silly boys.

These boys and their selfies. Ha!

This was a big "mommy fail".
I had not changed out his extra clothes since Winter, and when
his bottoms needed to be changed the other day, this was all they had for him. Ha!
He's really grown.

I love these pictures of my sweet boy.
He's got such a gentle & kind spirit.
He may be my demolition man, making a mess all through the house,
but he has such a tender heart.

I was always so worried that because I waited so long for Jubal, and loved Jubal so much, that I may not be able to love Gentry as much, or the same, or I would treat him differently.  Something.  Boy, did I worry for nothing.  This boy makes it so easy to love him.  There is absolutely no difference in how much I love him versus Jubal.

I have the two most amazing little boys ever!!!

After School

Jubal has handled the transition to "big school" very well. A lot better than Gentry has. Gentry misses his brother being at GCA because he doesn't get to see him throughout the day anymore. Every morning when we drop Jubal off at school, Gentry begins to pout, saying, "My Jubal! Miss you!" It brings tears to my eyes every morning. Jubal will hug Gentry and tell him he'll miss him, too.

Since Larson and I both work until 5:00, Jubal rides the school bus to GCA in the afternoon.  Gentry can hardly wait each day for Jubal to arrive.  Gentry's teachers tell me that he will walk around asking for "his" Jubal.  It is so sweet the love they have for each other, but especially the love that the little brother has for his big brother.

Mrs. Diane, Jubal's previous teacher, makes sure I still get pictures every now and then when Jubal gets off the bus.  I love the ones where Jubal and Gentry get to see each other after being apart all day.

This was Jubal's first day at big school.
Gentry was so happy to see him.

I was so anxious that first day about him getting to GCA safely on the bus.
Mrs. Diane sent me these to show me he made it.

After school snack.
Jubal loves vanilla ice cream.

Love that smile!

Each day, Jubal is greeted with a big hug from his little brother.
So sweet!!

I'm so thankful for my village.  I'm glad that Gentry is still with the ladies at GCA for a few more years before he starts school, and I'm happy that since I can't be there as soon as Jubal gets out of school, that he has somewhere safe to go and be cared for.

It takes a load off of me knowing my boys are safe when I can't be with them.  As much as I would love to be able to be with them more, the bills keep coming, and it takes both of us to make sure they are paid.  Maybe by seeing both of us work, it will help the boys learn good work ethics.  I want them to grow up to be good providers for their own families one day.  Hopefully by seeing their mama work, they'll marry a girl with good work ethics as well.

A Special Treat

As a treat for Jubal starting "big school", and doing so well with it, we decided to take him to his first movie. He loves the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles so we took him to the new movie that came out Friday.

We took him to a Sunday matinée. He was so excited. It was just him, Larson, and me. We asked Granny Pauline to keep Gentry for us so we could make it extra special for Jubal. He loved the whole theater experience. At first the volume was a little intimidating to him, but he got over that as soon as the movie started. He was so sweet, too. He held onto me and wrapped my arm around him the entire movie.

It was definitely a first with him that I will forever carry in my heart. My first little baby has grown into an amazing little boy.  I just hope he always wants to be wrapped up in my arms and as close to me as he does now.  Realistically, I know he won't, but it's nice to think maybe, just maybe. ;)

Weekends At The River

We usually end up at the river on Sunday afternoons. This south GA weather is HOT! We like to cool off in the good ol' Ohoopee or Altamaha when we can.

I have some pictures from a couple of our weekends down at the river I want to post here for memory's sake.

This particular weekend, Jubal caught his second fish.  Wesley Bland was at the river with his son, fishing, and he let Jubal reel one in once he snagged it for him.  Jubal was so proud. :)

Jubal has gotten braver this summer.  He will go a little further out with us now.  Gentry will still not wade too far out unless he is with me.  His daddy tries to tote him out, but he cries until Larson brings him back.  He will stay near the water's edge and play happily, but doesn't go much farther.

Now, if there were just a way to keep the sand out of our pants.  Ha!  That's my least favorite part.  I prefer a pool over the river or beach any day.  The river cools us off on a hot summer day, though, so I won't complain too much.

Last Week Of Daycare

Jubal's last week at daycare was bittersweet. I know he is proud to be getting bigger, but I love him being my little boy.  Although he still goes to GCA in the afternoon, he's not in daycare anymore.  He goes to big school. ;)

Here's several pics from his last week in K-3.

It's down to Leo, Ian, & Jubal.
