Gentry's Princess

My BFF, Shawnya, blessed me many years ago with my "first baby".  I was only 19 when Tiffany came into my life, and I've watched her grow into a beautiful young woman.  Tiffany is Shawnya's daughter, but we've had such a connection her entire life, that she feels like mine since I have been there from the beginning. :)

Tiffany is grown now and has a little girl of her own.  Hadley was born in February, before Gentry was born in June of 2012.  They go to GCA together, and just recently Gentry has begun to call her his princess.  They love each other, and I'm so happy that the love continues to grow throughout my friendship with Shawnya that has lasted 23 years.

I asked Hadley the other morning if she loved Gentry, her prince.  She quickly replied that yes, she did, and they were going to get married.  I told her we would have to wait and see about that.  Haha!  It's so cute to see their faces light up in the mornings when they see each other.

Maybe one day they will be boyfriend/girlfriend, he'll be the high school quarterback, she'll be the cheerleader captain, they'll go to prom, be King & Queen. Maybe they will marry each other one day.  Who knows?

I'm just proud of the foundation that they have because Shawnya & I started this journey as friends together  so many years ago.  No matter what, though, I hope they always remain friends.

Summer Pics~2015

I finally took some pictures of my boys before summer ended.
I'm no professional by any means, but I love my new camera, and
I had the best two little models to practice on you could find.

I took some of them with their daddy, too.

They were so ready to get in the water by the time we were finished. Ha!

I'm so proud of these pictures.
I love watching my boys grow up, and I love having pictures
to look back on one day when they're both grown.
So bittersweet.

Daycare With Gentry

I haven't done a post on Gentry's days at school (daycare) in awhile and Mrs. Diane, his teacher, has sent me lots of good pictures of his activities throughout the day.

I thought I would share some of them today.

He wanted Mrs. Diane to take this pic and send it to me
and tell me he loved me. :)

After Jubal gets off the bus at the daycare, these boys of mine
can't wait to see each other.

I can't remember what Mrs. Diane said he was doing here. (?)

In motion, doing the Hokey Pokey. Ha!

Put your left foot in...

Reading his book.

Reading to me for the pic.

Another day after Jubal was at the daycare and they
were hot & sweaty from playing outside.

This is Gentry's element right here. Building anything and everything
with blocks, legos, whatever he can find.

Gentry's chalk drawing of what is supposed to be a bee.

He told Mrs. Diane to send me a pic and to tell me he loved me so
so so so so so so so so much. :)
That's our thing.

Jubal requested this picture be taken and sent to me.
I love that my boys are tight.

He filled his bus completely up with whatever he could fit in it.

Full!

Helping Mrs. Diane at lunch time by passing out spoons.
He's such a big helper.

My boys.

Gentry is maturing so quickly, right before my eyes.  He's so independent.  He has his own chores at home that he set for himself.  He is in charge of feeding the cat and giving her water.  He picks up after himself, and puts things exactly where they go, most times without any direction at all.  He doesn't like being helped with anything until he figures out that he may need a little help.

He has such a HUGE vocabulary.  I'm sure most of it comes from having an older brother, but wow...just wow!  He can hold a conversation with a grown up for as long as you will listen. HA!

I'm so proud of both of my boys, and I'm glad they are growing and learning so well.  I wish I could keep them both this age forever.  They can do so much for themselves, but still need Mama & Daddy for lots of things, too.

I'll try to do a kindergarten update on Jubal soon.  He's doing well, too.  It's amazing that he can read little 4 or 5 page books to me now.  I am just in awe.  Really.
