The calm before the storm. ;)
I'm back! We had a wonderful Christmas & New Year. Just the boys' excitement was enough to make my heart swell. They, especially Jubal, were really into it this year. It was so much fun!
Since Jubal was born, Larson & I decided that we would use the "Three Gift" idea in our home. Christmas is when we, as Christians, celebrate Jesus' birth. The three wise men came bearing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. So, if Jesus received three gifts, my boys will get three as well. As the boys get older, they will begin to understand more of what the three gifts represent. It's a way for our family to make sure Christ stays in Christmas.
We start out on Christmas Eve. After we get home from visiting family & friends, and the boys have had their bath, they get to open presents from us. That way they can play with their toys and enjoy their goodies from us before they get their surprises from Santa on Christmas morning.
And it's on!
Gentry did an awesome job opening all of his presents by himself this year.
He was a wild man!
Jubal got his gun.
That face!
He got Gentry's attention, too. Look how fast that paper started coming off.
Gentry was trying to figure out what it was.
He probably could have unwrapped an empty box and been just as happy.
Jubal saw Spiderman.
Gentry trying to unwrap his little cow flashlight his daddy picked out for him.
It even says "Moo" when you turn it on.
After a few hours of playing and watching A Christmas Story, it was time for bed. Both boys were worn out and had to take turns being rocked. I got them down for the night, finished baking all the goodies for Christmas day, then relaxed for a bit before going to sleep myself so Santa could come.
To be continued...
