Our Summer

We had a fun, busy summer.
It's just too bad mama & daddy didn't get the summer off from work.
Someone has to pay those pesky bills, though.
This post is mostly pictures because I'm so far behind.
I'm just trying to catch up a little.

*************************************

We spent a lot of our summer at Palm Beach Island.
The boys love it there, and we know the water is clean, there is no current or under tow,
there are no sharks, no jelly fish, no minnows biting your toes, and everyone is so friendly.
It's always so nice to pack up a picnic lunch and spend the day there.

On one of our trips, my sweet Gentry was doing a back flip off of the high dive,
but didn't quite make it far enough out away from the diving board.
He ended up with some pretty yucky battle wounds.
Not only did he catch his cheek, but he took a lick on his forehead, and under his chin.
The sore spots looked much worse as they scabbed over and healed
in the following days, but he's one tough little boy.
He didn't even cry!

We also spent most of our summer in the pool.
It's hot in the south, y'all!
Georgia heat & humidity make you want to stay inside
in the A/C unless you're in some type of water.
That's why we like it all.
The river, the lake, the pool, and PBI.
The only thing we don't do is the ocean.
That's a negative.
We say "No!' to salt, (beach) sand, and sharks.

We went to Perry for their fireworks show on the the Fourth of July.
The boys enjoy going and spending a week with GiGi & Laney
while they are out of school, and this is the week they stay.

I miss them so much when they are gone, but I always
get plenty of pictures from Laney while they are there.

I will say that this year I got so much accomplished while they
were with my sister, though.
I had the week off from work and I cleaned my house from
top to bottom, from one end to the other.
It was nice.

I don't have many pictures of them at the river because
I let that be there time with their daddy pretty much this year.
Larson bought a boat, and they stayed out on the water a good bit.
I prefer to stay on land.

I do have a few pics & couple of videos that Larson would send me every now & then.

Larson got to fish a little.

Other than that, we pretty much just enjoyed each other's company
and not having a tight schedule or routine to follow for awhile.

I have to include these pics of my boys playing on the aging app.
They're so funny!

Man, he looks like my daddy here.

Hope everyone had a great summer!

Jubal Is Nine

Jubal's birthday was on July 12.
We actually didn't celebrate Jubal's birthday with a party
until Sunday, July 14, but he got to have fun all weekend.

On Friday the 12th, he had one of his best friends come over for awhile
They rode four wheelers, jumped on the trampoline,
and played Fortnite until Tristyn decided to go home.
Jubal was heartbroken that T went home, but he knew his party was coming.

**********

On Saturday, after Larson & I got off of work, we took Jubal to Walmart
to pick out his cake & the gift he wanted from us.
Nine is a weird age, & he wanted to pick out these things himself this year.
He ended up picking a cupcake cake.
At first I wasn't sure about it, but turns out it was
the perfect cake for a party on the go.

His long-time friend, Ian came bearing gifts & spent the
night with us since he was going with us early the next morning.
We had to leave early to make sure we got "our spot" at PBI.
The boys had a fun time until very late into the night.
I finally told them they had to get some rest for the big day.

**********

Jubal was so excited to finally be getting to have his party on Sunday.
We packed up the big cooler, grabbed some towels, loaded up,
and off we went to Palm Beach Island.
We were the first ones there when the gates opened at 10AM.

L-R: Gentry, Ian, Jubal

We had other parents meeting us there a little later with more of his friends.
By the time everyone arrived, we had quite a crowd of boys.

At this time we were still waiting for two more boys to show up.

We ended up with 8 boys, 2 girls, 7 adults, and had one
heck of a good time the entire day.
We had Jubal, Gentry, Ian, Miles, Colton #1, Colton #2, Dalton,
and a boy they met there named John.
Tori & Kaylyn were there, as well as myself, Larson, Shannon,
Shawnya, Heather (Colton's mom), Amberly & Jose.

Larson had gotten Jubal a #9 candle but we couldn't find it.
My sweet Jubal was so upset because he didn't think he
could make a wish without a candle.
Luckily, we found it soon thereafter, and allowed him to have us all
sing 'Happy Birthday' to him again, make his wish, & blow his candle out.
He was then satisfied.

We enjoyed the day so much.
There were a lot of tired little boys on the way home.
I think they all napped all the way home.
Once home, Miles ended up staying the night with Jubal.
That boy had friends over all weekend.
This mama was give out.
It was fun, though.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JUBAL TALON!!!

May all your wishes come true.
