Ready for Santa

We attended my company's Christmas dinner last Saturday night. We always enjoy spending time away from work with my co-workers, who are also my friends. The steaks weren't half bad, either. :)

Jubal was into everything, of course, because my boss's house is huge and they had plenty for his little hands to touch. I'll admit...he was much easier to control last year. He wasn't that bad, really, though!

I made a Peanut Butter Brownie Trifle (thanks to my dear blogger friend, Sarah.) It turned out wonderfully & I was so proud! Everyone loved it, so it was a hit. I'll have to make it again sometime. It was really easy, too.

We finished our Christmas shopping last Sunday when we took Jubal to see Santa. I am so thankful to be finished wrapping everything. I like gift bags, but I prefer wrapping gifts because I think it's more fun getting to unwrap presents. When I was little, the only things not wrapped for me were from Santa. ;)

I did end up using some gift bags for some gifts because they were just too big or shaped funky, but 95% of our gifts were wrapped and I'm happy to be DONE!

Now, we're just waiting on Santa! Wonder what he'll bring??? ;)

Santa Pic~2011

We spent the day in Savannah this past Sunday finishing up our Christmas shopping. I decided last year that we would plan a Sunday every December before Christmas to go to the Savannah Mall, specifically to take Jubal to Bass Pro Shop to have his picture made with Santa.

Well...I've been seeing a lot of Santa pics of sweet babies looking terrified, crying, and screaming this year.

I was almost certain Jubal would be intrigued with Santa and, hopefully, wouldn't cry. I still think he would have done much better had he not been feeling badly and running a temp. :(

So, without further ado...

Our {Crying} Santa Pic~2011

It is definitely much different than last year's pic. Bless his heart!

I was going to take him to the Statesboro Mall Monday to get another chance at a better pic with Santa, but my sweet boy was still sick so we didn't get to make it.

Maybe next year. :)

Christmas Parade

One of the things I also love about Christmas is the parades. We took Jubal to an evening parade of lights a few weekends ago. I can't believe I'm just now posting about this. Ha!

We were able to meet my best friend, Darla, there with her three children. It was a short parade, but we had a good time and we even went and grabbed a bite to eat afterwards. It was good to get to spend time with a friend. Jubal enjoys having someone to play with, too.

This was at the beginning of the parade. Jubal was waiting for some candy! ;)

Jubal is not afraid of anything! He loved Rudolph!

Darla & Olivia with Rudolph. I didn't mean to cut Olivia out.

Jubal's first sucker of the night. He loves DumDums.

Olivia & big sis, Hillary.

I think Jubal was more into his DumDum than Santa. :)

Ahh...now he's interested!

Darla pulling down Santa's beard!! She swore she knew him & she did! Ha!!!

It turned out to be her sister's ex-boyfriend, Carl.

Do you know how hard it is to get two littles to both look at the camera at the same time?

Olivia was cheesin'. Jubal was checking her out!

Almost.

Well, at least I got them looking at each other. Ha!

They had a fun time coloring & chatting it up at the Huddle House.

Jubal thought he would taste the crayon.

The night ended up being a great one. I love getting to take my little man out, but I love being home snuggled up with him on a good, cold night, too. There's no place like home, especially with my little family there. :)

Christmas Lights

Larson & I took Jubal to see Christmas lights this past Saturday night. Bless his little heart, he had just dozed off on the ride over when we had to wake him up to get him out in the cold. He didn't mind a bit, though, once he saw all the pretty lights everywhere.

We saw so many pretty lights everywhere. I wish my digital camera took better nighttime pictures. These next pics are from it. I think I'm going to just start using my iPhone all the time instead. Heck, it takes better pictures anyway. :)

These next pictures are of Santa's Workshop. The people that hosted this light show really did a wonderful job. It is definitely a child's delight! I also got some videos of some of the things inside the workshop. I love the winter carnival.

Here are a few of the videos I got. I especially like the last one. It was Santa inside a camper trailer. The door would open and close and Santa would pop out. Jubal got a big kick out of it and Santa's mailbox. :)

I'll go ahead and add the rest of the pictures I took. I love being able to look back at the times we get to share with our boy. I hope to be able to continue AND create all kinds of traditions with Jubal. I hope when he grows up he always remembers Christmas as a time of wonder & delight, but mostly that it's ALL about Jesus, just the way I remember. :)

We'll be taking Jubal to see Santa this coming weekend. I'm so excited to see how he reacts to Santa this year. Last year was awesome! He loved Santa and we enjoyed spending the entire day together as  as family, including our niece, Alannah, as well. Hopefully each year will just get better & better. Next year, we'll have another little one to take to see Santa. How exciting!!!
