Gentry's Kindergarten Graduation

We celebrated our youngest boy's accomplishments yesterday.
Our sweet Gentry has now completed kindergarten and will be moving on to first grade.

Blurry, I know, but I love his face when he saw me. :)

Reminds me of my boy's face.

Gentry received several awards.
We were all very proud of his achievement in Math.
He also got a certificate for learning all of his "pizza words".
Last, but certainly not least, he received his kindergarten diploma.

They sang a few little songs before the ceremony began.

A friend of mine caught some really candid shots of him for me.
In most of the pictures, he's looking at me while he was singing.
I love my baby boy!

My fave!

After the program, we went back to their classroom where we
enjoyed a little video of their school year.

He received a bucket full of goodies, and I was able to sign him out for the day.

We spent the day running errands and grocery shopping.
He was just happy to be with me and not in school.

I'm so proud of my little achiever!
Onward to first grade he goes.

Mother's Day~2018

I had a great Mother's Day again this year.
After a tumultuous week after dyeing the boys' hair, Larson & I are okay again.
We went to church that morning, and to the river for the afternoon.
I got some really nice gifts, but just being with my family was enough.

I had my sweet Macy make the boys each a shirt to wear to church for MD.
I didn't get a picture of them, or of us that morning, but I have this pic of the shirt.
Our church, Anchorpointe, gave all of the mothers a tumbler with a beautiful verse on it.
Our pastor gave the most uplifting sermon about mothers as well.
I sometimes get so caught up being a mother that I forget all that we do really.

I love Mom because she goes to buy new clothes.  I like the clothes.  My mom takes me places.
I like when Mom makes macaroni for me.  Mom and I build a car together.
(He is obviously talking about a LEGO car.)

While we were at the river, Larson did a little fishing.
I'm giggling when I type this, but he hooked himself right up.
Karma.
Turn my boys' hair purple again why don't ya?! ;)

When we first got tot he river, there was only one other mother there with her children.
Before we left, it got full, and busy with boats & jet skis.
It was such a relaxing, fun time, though.

We left around six because my mama made us dinner.
We enjoyed a delicious meal with her.
She even bought a cake for us to celebrate each other.
I sure do love her!!

I so enjoyed my day.

Purple Hair

On Friday, May 4, I got home from work to the biggest fiasco that could have possibly incurred.
Larson evidently thought it would be a good idea to let our neighbor dye our boys' hair PURPLE.
Yes, I lost my ever-lovin' mind!

When I first saw Jubal's, I wasn't too shocked because he has very short, thin, fine hair.
It also looked like a koolaid dye.
It wasn't.
Gentry has thick, wavy, longer hair.
His was a deep, dark violet blue.
Forgive me for not taking any pictures, but when I saw his hair & found out it was
semi-permanent, I became completely unhinged.
Let's just leave it at this...
It wasn't a good day, or week for that matter, for Larson.

My first attempt to get as much out as possible was using just plain dandruff shampoo.
All of my friends on social media were giving me different hopeful solutions.
I had the dandruff shampoo available at that moment so I went with it first.

This was after three washings.
He was so tired, I gave up and let him go to bed.
My baby went from a beautiful blond to a purple/brown.
All I could do was cry.

Morning after, in the sun.

Thankfully, the majority of it came out of Jubal's hair.
Some was still in the tips of his, but once we trimmed him up, his was fine.

The next day, my friend Nikki had picked me up some Oops! color solution.
We gave it a try, but it only helped a little.
It brought us to a blue/gray.
I just had to come to terms with what was happening and deal with it.
Gentry wasn't bothered, so I told myself he was a rock star & he could
definitely pull it off.

As the week has passed, the more time Gentry has spent in the sun,
the more normal it is becoming.
There is still a hint of blue/gray, but we're washing it with dandruff shampoo every night.
The blond is beginning to come back again.

Hopefully, it will be completely back to normal soon.
I have never been so furious in my life.
Thank the Lord we made it through.

Hodgepodge

Just trying to post something, anything, really.
With springtime comes longer days, and much more random activity.
Jubal chose not to play baseball this year.
We tried to encourage him to, but he was adamant about it.

The school year is drawing to an end & we are anxiously awaiting summer break.
We've been staying outside until dark, and staying up much later than our normal bedtime.

We've spent time at the indoor trampoline park, the boys have
played some checkers at Cracker Barrel, and we can't wait for the
river water to warm up so we can be on a sandbar mostly every weekend.

Jubal is charmed right now by a little girl named Lily Holland.
She is all he's talked about for weeks now.
One thing I can say about him is he is determined.
Persistence runs deep in our family. :)

There are so many things I should be writing down here & keeping up with.
I'm going to start making me a list on my phone so I can remember
them when I do finally write a post.

I'm sitting here now trying to think of all the funny, smart, loving
things they have done lately that I want to jot down.
I may include some of the not so funny, irresponsible, and
downright ugly things they do that catch me off guard as well.

I got to spend another birthday (hers) with my BFF.
Shawnya, Tori, and I went to see A Quiet Place.
We ate at good ol' Zaxby's first.
The movie was good, quiet (lol), but good.

I'm loving my new monogrammed hat.
I wear it more often than I should, but it's so easy to just throw it on.

That's about all I have for now.
I'll hopefully have more to post about soon.
