A Quick Update

I haven't posted in awhile, but we're still kicking. We've just been hanging out. It's been rainy here lately, so lots of inside time. I turned the nursery into a playroom and Jubal is loving it. He has his own TV and all his toys in there. He even asks for us to bring Gentry in to play with him. It's all very new to Gentry so he thinks everything is amazing. :)

Other than that, not much else has been going on. Larson did get their swing set put together this past Sunday. I'll post pics on that later.

Attitude

Gentry is FULL of attitude these days! As he gets older, he gets more & more demanding.  It's funny, really, but sometimes it can also be frustrating.  So far, this is the biggest difference between our boys.  Jubal was always very laid back, not fussy at all.  I think maybe it's because Jubal was the only child we had so he pretty much was catered to without having to want for anything. Ya know?

Gentry, on the other hand, has to sometimes wait in line, bless him.  He can get awful upset if he isn't seen about right away.  No tears.  Just plain out fussing.  That boy, I tell ya! ;)

Another thing about Gentry that differs from his brother is that Gentry fights sleep.  He doesn't mind waking up in the mornings (also different than his brother ha!), but he hates going to sleep.  His little eyes will be rolling back and his eyelids will be almost closed, yet he'll pop back up, usually screaming.  Can you say attitude???

No matter what, though, I love this little guy just as much as I love his big brother.  I'm glad they're different.  Jubal has his quirks, too, but neither does anything specifically that this mama can't handle.  I just wanted to write about how his attitude and personality are both really beginning to show and grow.

Hopefully, when Gentry gets a little older, he'll learn to be more patient.  I doubt he ever grows out of not wanting to go to sleep.  I never did...until I was much older.  Now, I can barely keep my eyes open past 9:30. Ha!  My boys, plus a full-time job, wear me out.

I wouldn't have it any other way, though. ;)

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

Eight

Gentry Slade,

You are now EIGHT months old!  Wow, lil fella, you're getting to be mama's big boy.  You've changed your looks so much over the course of time.  You're even more handsome than the day you were born, and you just keep getting cuter & cuter every day. :)

You have the biggest, brightest blue eyes.  Your hair is getting very thick and getting lighter.  Looks like we're going to have us two blond-haired, blue-eyed boys.  Fine with me.

You got both of your two bottom teeth within two days this month.  Now, the two bottom ones next to those are trying to cut through.  Your two top teeth are budding, too.  All this teething makes you a little cranky.  You do pretty good, though.  We'll get through it.  Thank God for teething tablets and Tylenol. ;)

You have been sitting up all by yourself now.  I love to see you and your brother play.  Since you can sit alone, it's easier for y'all to be more interactive with each other.  It makes my heart smile.  Jubal loves you so much.  You're pretty in love with him, too.

We moved you out of your carrier this past week.  You are really liking your new car seat.  I love looking in the rearview mirror and seeing your little curious face.  You look all around and take everything in.  You're really growing up on me, baby.

As much as I would like to keep you little forever, I'm glad you're gaining some independence.  I would be lying if I said I preferred the newborn stage more than the toddler stage.  I love it when you can express yourself more and I'm able to help you more since I know what's wrong.

I love you, though, no matter what stage you are in.  You are my sweet baby.  The baby of our family.  We are complete.  I love you more than all the leaves on all the trees, as your daddy would say.  You are so loved.  Happy eight months, sweet Gentry!

Forever & Always,
Mama
