A Little More Summer

Even though it's technically fall, that doesn't mean much in SE Georgia.
It's October, but still feels like August.
I'll be glad when we see some cooler temperatures,
but until then I'm going to share a little more of our summer
since there are more pictures I want to share for family purposes.

********************************************

I have some pictures from our local onion festival this year.
The boys get super excited about the parade.

They enjoy the actual festival, too.
It's just so hot, you don't want to stay long.
The boys like the bungee jump & slide the most.
That's basically the reason we even go to the festival.
That & the good "fair" food.

Although, I let Larson & the boys have most of the fun at the river
this summer out on the boat, I did make it down there with them to cool off some myself.
We stay close to the landing when I'm there, though.

Jaxson likes to go with us, too.

It was a fun summer, but I'm actually looking forward to seeing it go.
Bring on some cooler weather now, God.
Please.

Mother's Day~2019

Yes, I am STILL trying to get caught up.
There are so many things I need to add to this little "journal" of mine.
I'm getting things up, though, little by little.

I love saving all of my homemade gifts from the boys.
Especially my Mother's Day gifts.
I want to share them here, too.

My big boy got too "grown" to make me a hand-made gift this year, I guess.
He, Gentry, & their daddy got me a delightful basket full of goodies.
It had soaps, bath bombs, body spray, a change dish with
a sweet mom quote on it, a beautiful "I Love Mom" picture frame,
and lots of other little treasures in it.

It was a nice day spent with all my boys.
Maybe next year I'll get a MAID for Mother's Day.
Ha!
Just kidding.
No one cleans it like I like it. ;)

Grandparent's Day

As usual, I missed THE day of Grandparent's Day.
I did, however, want to share this picture of my boys & Laney with their Mammaw.
One thing about this woman...
She loves her grandchildren.
The only thing missing in this picture is my brother's daughter, Lyndsay.

Our Summer

We had a fun, busy summer.
It's just too bad mama & daddy didn't get the summer off from work.
Someone has to pay those pesky bills, though.
This post is mostly pictures because I'm so far behind.
I'm just trying to catch up a little.

*************************************

We spent a lot of our summer at Palm Beach Island.
The boys love it there, and we know the water is clean, there is no current or under tow,
there are no sharks, no jelly fish, no minnows biting your toes, and everyone is so friendly.
It's always so nice to pack up a picnic lunch and spend the day there.

On one of our trips, my sweet Gentry was doing a back flip off of the high dive,
but didn't quite make it far enough out away from the diving board.
He ended up with some pretty yucky battle wounds.
Not only did he catch his cheek, but he took a lick on his forehead, and under his chin.
The sore spots looked much worse as they scabbed over and healed
in the following days, but he's one tough little boy.
He didn't even cry!

We also spent most of our summer in the pool.
It's hot in the south, y'all!
Georgia heat & humidity make you want to stay inside
in the A/C unless you're in some type of water.
That's why we like it all.
The river, the lake, the pool, and PBI.
The only thing we don't do is the ocean.
That's a negative.
We say "No!' to salt, (beach) sand, and sharks.

We went to Perry for their fireworks show on the the Fourth of July.
The boys enjoy going and spending a week with GiGi & Laney
while they are out of school, and this is the week they stay.

I miss them so much when they are gone, but I always
get plenty of pictures from Laney while they are there.

I will say that this year I got so much accomplished while they
were with my sister, though.
I had the week off from work and I cleaned my house from
top to bottom, from one end to the other.
It was nice.

I don't have many pictures of them at the river because
I let that be there time with their daddy pretty much this year.
Larson bought a boat, and they stayed out on the water a good bit.
I prefer to stay on land.

I do have a few pics & couple of videos that Larson would send me every now & then.

Larson got to fish a little.

Other than that, we pretty much just enjoyed each other's company
and not having a tight schedule or routine to follow for awhile.

I have to include these pics of my boys playing on the aging app.
They're so funny!

Man, he looks like my daddy here.

Hope everyone had a great summer!
