Jubal Is Nine

Jubal's birthday was on July 12.
We actually didn't celebrate Jubal's birthday with a party
until Sunday, July 14, but he got to have fun all weekend.

On Friday the 12th, he had one of his best friends come over for awhile
They rode four wheelers, jumped on the trampoline,
and played Fortnite until Tristyn decided to go home.
Jubal was heartbroken that T went home, but he knew his party was coming.

On Saturday, after Larson & I got off of work, we took Jubal to Walmart
to pick out his cake & the gift he wanted from us.
Nine is a weird age, & he wanted to pick out these things himself this year.
He ended up picking a cupcake cake.
At first I wasn't sure about it, but turns out it was
the perfect cake for a party on the go.

His long-time friend, Ian came bearing gifts & spent the
night with us since he was going with us early the next morning.
We had to leave early to make sure we got "our spot" at PBI.
The boys had a fun time until very late into the night.
I finally told them they had to get some rest for the big day.

Jubal was so excited to finally be getting to have his party on Sunday.
We packed up the big cooler, grabbed some towels, loaded up,
and off we went to Palm Beach Island.
We were the first ones there when the gates opened at 10AM.

We had other parents meeting us there a little later with more of his friends.
By the time everyone arrived, we had quite a crowd of boys.

At this time we were still waiting for two more boys to show up.

We ended up with 8 boys, 2 girls, 7 adults, and had one
heck of a good time the entire day.
We had Jubal, Gentry, Ian, Miles, Colton #1, Colton #2, Dalton,
and a boy they met there named John.
Tori & Kaylyn were there, as well as myself, Larson, Shannon,
Shawnya, Heather (Colton's mom), Amberly & Jose.

Larson had gotten Jubal a #9 candle but we couldn't find it.
My sweet Jubal was so upset because he didn't think he
could make a wish without a candle.
Luckily, we found it soon thereafter, and allowed him to have us all
sing 'Happy Birthday' to him again, make his wish, & blow his candle out.
He was then satisfied.

We enjoyed the day so much.
There were a lot of tired little boys on the way home.
I think they all napped all the way home.
Once home, Miles ended up staying the night with Jubal.
That boy had friends over all weekend.
This mama was give out.
It was fun, though.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JUBAL TALON!!!

May all your wishes come true.

Gentry Turns Seven

Our original plans for Gentry's birthday party got cancelled due to thunderstorms
in our area over the weekend, but we ended up having more fun than
we thought just by staying home.

Gentry has made plans since his birthday party last year
to have his party at Palm Beach Island again this year.
He loves the water and especially the high dive board.
He has practiced for awhile turning back flips just so he could show
the big boys how it was done.

.Once we knew it was going to be bad weather,
we had to change his plans at the last minute.
I asked him if he thought he might like a sleepover party at home
since we have never done anything like that.
He thought that might be fun and asked for me to decorate
the house for a party, and to have party hats
and balloons so it would be "cool".
And so we did.

He wanted a Fortnite cake, which is the most popular game
right now on the gaming systems.
I let him pick out the edible design and once again
my cousin, Lynne, made his delicious cake for him

I didn't end up getting very many pictures,
but they all had a great time and Gentry even said
this was the best party ever so far.
We had pizza and cake, with popcorn along with other snacks
and sugary sodas, and they got to watch movies until they fell asleep.

They were supposed to make a pallet fort in the living room floor,
but they ended up all piled up on our reclining sofa.
I had five sweet babes sleeping under my roof.
Be still my heart.

I'm hoping Gentry always loves his birthday parties.
I want him to have good memories of "his" day.
No matter what, no matter how many birthdays come & go,
he will always be my baby, though.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GENTRY SLADE!!!
