We have been having a busy, fun summer.
This summer, instead of sending the boys to daycare,
we allowed them to spend their summer at home.
I really wanted them to experience the type of summer I always got to enjoy as a child.
I had an older brother & sister, so I never had to go to daycare.
Summer vacation was always so full of fun & I have fond memories of them growing up.
Larson is off on Tuesdays & Thursdays, and I'm off on Mondays,
so the boys only needed someone to stay with them on Wednesdays & Fridays.
We got their sixteen year old cousin, Hunter to stay with them.
He needed a little money, and we needed a "sitter".
It worked out perfectly.
Here are some of the boys' adventures so far this summer.
First morning of summer vacation, just waking up, we had some Snap fun. Ha!
Fun nights of music, friends, & cornhole.
Laney came for a week and she & Jubal walked all over town.
They even did a little grocery shopping.
Walking to the library, they found one of the Tattnall County rocks.
This one was so original I had to snap a picture.
We spent many, many hours at the pool.
There's nothing better than being in the water during our southeast summer.
We attended the Stanfield family reunion.
Always good times with family, and such good food.
You can usually find Larson & the boys at the river on his days off.
About the only way to enjoy being out of the house is to be in or near the water.
They love to fish, too, and the river is a perfect place for my boys.
Jubal went to stay with my sister for a week when we took Laney home.
Gentry was supposed to stay, too, but he chickened out at the last minute.
I'm kinda glad he did, because this was the first time even in Jubal's eight
years that either of my boys have stayed away from home like that.
While Jubal was enjoying his week away,
Gentry got to spend some time with Hadley.
We stayed at the pool the whole week.
Jubal enjoyed his week in WR.
He called everyday wanting me to come get him, but we convinced
him to stay at least one more day every time.
He was just homesick, and he found out real quick
that not everywhere he goes will he get treated the same as he does at home.
My sister says I have them spoiled.
Jubal got to go to his first concert for the 4th of July.
He had such a good time.
He got to see Hunter Hayes.
He probably won't remember who he saw at his first concert,
so I knew I better include that for memory's sake.
His ears are NOT pierced!
You can tell by all the pictures we've been having lots of fun.
The boys have really enjoyed having this break.
However, Jubal has asked to go back to visit his friends at daycare several times.
I will continue with more of our summer in another post.
I think this one is long enough already.
