Grandparent's Day~2016

I have been severely slacking at keeping up with my journal for the boys. It's not that we haven't been up to anything, it's that we've just been very busy doing everything.  Before I get into Grandparent's Day, let me try to catch up on a few things I want to remember about right now.

With the beginning of a new school year, and both boys in school this time around, it's been a little adjustment.  I'm such a stickler for routine, and the slightest change sometimes catches me off guard.  The boys have also begun a new season of soccer.  This is Jubal's second year, Gentry's first.  I wasn't ready for Gentry to start this year, but Larson wanted to go ahead and get him started.  We also requested that he be on Jubal's team, which is a leap into a different league than he should be in.  He's not really mature enough, nor is he experienced enough, but he's catching on, and his coach says he's got so much heart.  Their first game is October 4.

First practice.

Now onto Grandparent's Day.  Thankfully, my mama was able to go this year.  She went for Jubal's Pre-K year, but wasn't able to make it last year for his kindergarten year.  She was so excited to get to go and be with both boys.  They had a fun time at the book fair where she spoiled them, too.  However, she didn't make it to Jubal's classroom to see the little program they put together for all of the grandparents due to the fact she's not able to walk long distances and gets tired easily.

She did make it to Gentry's, though.

My friend, Erin, got these pics for us.

She was also able to get a picture with both of the boys for her day.  I absolutely love this picture!!  I'm so happy my boys get to enjoy their mammaw, especially since my daddy, their pappaw, is no longer with us, and the boys never got to know him.

He would have been so tickled to get to go with my mama on this day. :)

So, from now on I will try to do a better job of keeping up with our busy, yet mundane, life.  One thing is for certain...these boys keep me on my toes, and I'm so thankful for my entire family.
